George II gold Guinea 1737 MS63+ NGC, KM573.3, S-3647, Farey-820 (Very Rare). Second young laureate head of the King. None graded in the PCGS population and only two pieces graded at NGC, of which the present offering is vastly superior. It must have taken a wholly improbable sequence of events to allow this example to survive in this astounding, Choice state of preservation. The serene fields appear profusely luminous, sun-yellow throughout and supported by faint whispers of cognac toning in the legends. The raised features are well-presented and the rims are satisfyingly intact. Overall, a high-caliber representative for a quality-conscious collector of British Guineas.
