Papal States. Pius VI gold 10 Zecchini Anno XII (1787) MS61 Prooflike NGC, Bologna mint, KM309, Fr-390, B-3012. 34.20gm. A celebrated two-year type that becomes particularly challenging in a Prooflike designation, this being one of only four specimens to receive the accolade from NGC. Rightly so, a poignant glassiness runs wild in the peripheries, only slightly diminished toward the centers due to gentle chatter. With devices appreciably rendered and struck up to their fullest medallic splendor, we expect this piece to garner excited activity amongst Italian type collectors.
