Meiji gold 20 Yen Year 3 (1870) MS63 NGC, Osaka mint, KM-Y13, JNDA 01-1, J&V-L1. Mintage: 46,139. Among the most coveted types of "modern" Japanese gold as the first year of production for a new monetary system based on the Yen, utilizing presses from the recently defunct Hong Kong mint. Especially desirable when encountered at Choice levels of preservation and finer, the piece at hand endures with abundant mint brilliance that lights aglow at the slightest flick of the wrist.
