CALABRIA. Tarentum. Ca. 281-240 BC. AR didrachm (21mm, 6.58 gm, 9h). NGC AU 5/5 - 5/5. Ca. 280-272 BC, Sedamus, Fy- and Gy, magistrates. The Dioscuri on horseback cantering left; ΣΩΔ-Α-Μ-Ο-Σ below, ΦΥ monogram above / ΤΑ-ΡΑΣ, Taras astride dolphin left, with two spears and round shield decorated with hippocamp in left hand, Nike in right hand crowning him with laurel; ΓΥ in left field, waves below. HN Italy 1011. Vlasto 775. Incredible example with a well-centered strike on a deep charcoal, cabinet toned flan.
