Late posthumous issue in the name and types of Lysimachus, period of the 1st Mithradatic War, 88-86 BC. Diademed head of deified Alexander III right, with horn of Ammon / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΛYΣΙΜΑΧΟY, Athena enthroned left, Nike in outstretched right hand crowning name, left arm resting on grounded shield decorated with gorgoneion head boss, transverse spear beyond; MHAI monogram in inner left field, BY on throne, filleted trident left in exergue. Müller -, cf. 203 (tetradrachm). Phenomenal portrait of Alexander the Great on the obverse of this bright and toned coin.
