PONTIC KINGDOM. Mithradates VI Eupator (120-63 BC). AR tetradrachm (32mm, 16.84 gm, 12h). NGC AU★ 4/5 - 5/5, Fine Style. Dated Seleucid Era 208, 9th month (90/89 BC). Diademed head of Mithradates VI right, with windswept hair / BAΣΙΛEΩΣ / MIΘPAΔATOY / EYΠATOPOΣ, Pegasus standing left on ground line, head lowered to graze; star within crescent to left, HΣ (year) above HAPK monogram to right, Θ (month) in exergue; all within Dionysiac wreath of ivy and fruit. De Callataÿ pg. 12 (D47/R-). SNG von Aulock 6678 (same obverse die). Dewing 2120 (same obverse die). DCA 688. HGC 7, 338. Well centered with all Fine Style devices visible on the wintry flan.
