Maximinus II, as Caesar (AD 310-313). AV aureus (18mm, 4.44 gm, 10h). NGC XF 5/5 - 2/5, damage. Rome, 1st officina, late spring to summer AD 307. MAXIMINV-S NOB CAES, laureate head of Maximinus II right / PRINCIPI-I-VVENTVT, Maximinus II standing facing, head left, with right hand raised, scepter in left; standard to left. Calicó 5023 corr. (same dies, holding standard). RIC VI 149 corr. (between two standards). Extremely rare, seemingly third example in sales archives. This specimen features a robust strike, creating a portrait in high relief, on a lovely sunflower toned flan.
