Central American Republic Counterstamped "Carrillo" 2 Reales (1841-42) F15 NGC, San Jose mint, cf. KM11 (for host KM141.1). Host coin: Peru Republic 2 Reales 1827 CUZCO-GM (KM141.2); Counterstamp: Type I 6-pointed radiant star (VF Standard). Initial test punch on obverse between "FIRME" and "Y" of the legend, plug removed from reverse above the arms of Peru, "Carrillo" star counterstamp applied close to center of obverse. The plug was removed from these coins as a payment for the countermarking. A very rare host coin type, carrying deep anthracite patination and signs of even wear from busy circulation.
