Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. Anton Ulrich Taler 1704-HCH MS63+ NGC, KM667, Dav-2113. Marking the death of Rudolf August. Struck to exact calculations upon a flawless planchet while the collar encircles the entirety of the coin without break. The firm strike has left devices that have hardly diminished over the last 300 years as evidenced by the curls in the duke's hair and the eminently legible microscale text on the reverse. The still-lustrous surfaces are beautifully backlit by a wonderful pastel-infused patination. This is the only example graded at NGC and it's a stunner!
