Guatemala
Republic Quetzal 1925-(P) MS62 NGC, Philadelphia mint, KM242, Elizondo-143. Of the 10,000 pieces struck for this issue, 7,000 were re-melted between 1927 and 1928, with an unknown amount withdrawn in 1932 leaving less than 3,000 examples that could possibly exist. An ash tone with iridescent hues dresses this bold and crisp survivor which, from the mere 45 pieces recorded by NGC and PCGS combined, only one ranks finer.
