British India. Victoria Proof Restrike Rupee 1883-C PR64 PCGS, Calcutta mint, cf. KM492 (unlisted in Proof), cf. S&W-6.67 (same). Obverse with 3-1/2 panel jabot and no 'V' on ground-line. An intriguing Restrike Proof that appears to have utilized the 1882 Proof obverse die. Outrageous toning in pastel pink transitioning to opalescent aqua dominates the visual on the obverse, whereas the reverse expresses more conformist steely gray hue with saffron highlights. The sole graded example at PCGS and of the highest desirability for the devoted collector of British India Rupees.
