The Triumvirs. Mark Antony and Octavian. Spring-early summer 41 BC. Fourée Denarius (18mm, 2.73 g, 8h). Imitating an official issue of the Ephesus mint; M. Barbatius Pollio, quaestor pro praetore. Bare head of Mark Antony right / Bare head of Octavian right. Cf. Crawford 517/2 (all references for official issue); cf. CRI 243; cf. Sydenham 1181; cf. RSC 8; cf. RBW 1798 var. (Octavian with slight beard). Toned, some porosity, scrape on reverse, a few minor breaks in plating revealing core. VF.
