Galeazzo Mondella, called Moderno (1467-1528), Hercules and the Nemean Lion, bronze plaquette, Hercules standing left strangling the Nemean lion; behind is a tree stump with barren branch (in the form of a piece of coral) from which hangs a bow and quiver and behind which is a club, 75 x 56mm (Molinier 198; Bange 473; Lewis 10, fig. 9; Scaglia V.21), very fine old cast with brown patina Ex Alain Edrei (1931-2021) collection, Paris [inventory number 56 bis in red on reverse]; and ex Seymour de Ricci collection, Beaussant Lefevre, Paris, 24 Mach 2010, lot 63.
