Pseudo Fra Antonio da Brescia (early 16th century), Allegory of Virtue and Vice, bronze plaquette, Virtue as a sleeping nymph with two children on her lap is discovered by two mischievous satyrs, 57.6mm (Molinier 122; Bange 645; Kress 189, fig. 239; Scaglia III.17; Warren, Ashmolean, 335), extremely fine early cast Ex Alain Edrei (1931-2021) collection, Paris [Inventory number 225 in red on reverse]; and ex Morton & Eden, 15 June 2017, lot 259. The design copies an engraving of Nymph with Satyrs by Benedetto Montagna, c. 1500-20.
