Etruria, Populonia AR Didrachm (10 Units?). Late 5th century BC. Head of Metus facing, hair bound with diadem; unclear mark of value below; all within dotted border / Blank. Cf. EC I, 8 (10 units); cf. EC 1, 9 (5 units). 3.16g, 16mm.
Good Fine.
From the Mike Ballerini Collection, collector's ticket included.
This example is below weight for the issue if it were a didrachm and it more consistent with the drachm, however, the size of the head of Metus on the obverse fits more closely with the dies used to strike the didrachm (10 units).
