Traditionally ascribed to Augustus, the present type was excluded from RPC I on account of the fabric, style and letter forms being considered from a somewhat later period, perhaps of Hadrian (cf. RPC I p. 305). However, the editors of RPC III also didn't include the type, dating it to the Flavian period (cf. RPC III p.81). After further reassessment it has been added to RPC III post-publication, grouped with types of a similar style (cf. RPC III 652 & 654).
