Arcadius, AD 383-408. AV solidus (4,27 g). Thessalonica mint, struck AD 397-402. Pearl-diademed, helmeted and cuirassed bust of Arcadius facing slightly to right, holding spear over shoulder and shield decorated with horseman attacking fallen enemy; large staurogram on breastplate / Constantinopolis seated facing on throne, head turned right, holding a spear and Victory on globe, resting right foot on prow; COMOB in exergue. Surfaces slightly matte and a few tiny marks and short scratches.
