Basil II Bulgaroktokonos, AD 976-1025, with Constantine VIII. AV histamenon nomisma (4,39 g). Constantinople mint, struck circa AD 989-1001. Facing bust of Christ Pantokrator, nimbate and with two pellets in each limb of nimbus / Crowned facing busts of Basil, wearing loros, and Constantine, wearing chlamys, holding patriarchal cross-crosslet between them. Struck with slightly worn dies and with short striking crack at 2 o'clock. Small area of flat strike on reverse.
