Con Decreto Imperiale del 19.1.1811 si stabilì: "Essa è particolarmente incaricata della revisione del dizionario della lingua italiana, della conservazione della purità della lingua, dell'esame delle opere presentate al concorso per i premi fondati dai nostri decreti del 9.4.1809 e 13.1.1810". The royal decree of 19.11.1811 established that "(the Academy) is in charge of the review of the italian language dictionary, the preservation of the purity of the language, the examination of the works presented at the contests for the prizes created with our decrees of 9.4.1809 and 13.1.1810".
