Solidus circa 352-355, AV 4.43 g. FL IVL CONSTAN – TIVS PERP AVG Helmeted, diademed and cuirassed bust facing, slightly r., holding spear diagonally over r. shoulder in right hand and shield decorated with star pattern in l. hand. Rev. GLORIA – REI – PVBLICAE Roma and Constantinopolis, enthroned facing, one with foot on prow and holding sceptre, supporting between them a wreath inscribed VOT / XX / MVLT / XXX; in exergue, RQ. Very rare. A very peculiar portrait perfectly centred on a full flan. Minor edge
marks, otherwise good extremely fine
