Pseudo-Imperial Coinage. In the name of Anastasius, 491-518. Solidus, uncertain mint 491-528, AV 4.44 g. DN ANASTA – SIVS PF AVC Pearl-diademed, helmeted and cuirassed bust facing, three-quarters r., holding spear and decorated shield with horseman and fallen enemy motif. Rev. VICTOR – I – AAVCCC A Victory standing l., holding long jewelled cross; in r. field, star, and in exergue, COIIOB. MIBE –, cf. 9. MEC –, cf. 112.
