CHINA--REPUBLIC. Bank of China. 50 Dollars, 1.6.1913. P-32As. Specimen.
(S/M#C294-45a) Specimen. One of the highlights of the sale and a note that will be a highlight in any collection it enters. Seen in a larger format with common design styling of the lesser denominations bearing the 1912 series date. Deep purple inks make up the bordering design and left & right vignettes with Huang-ti and bank buildings with tree branches. Large multicolored guilloche at center and solid zero serial numbers with specimen overprints. The overall quality is quite stunning with the note showing strong original paper throughout with large borders. Currently one of only three pieces graded by PMG with a single finer example. The first we have handled of this catalog number in any form and certainly a note that will likely not be offered again in the near future. PMG Pop. 1/1 finer. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.
