Venezuela (struck in London), copper proof essai 1/2 centavo, 1852, plain edge, no initials on truncation, rare, NGC PF 62 Brown. Stohr-23; KM-Pn15 (Y5.2). Bold strike with muted luster under toning, the reverse with lighter color and nicer luster (die-variety with 23 berries in the wreath), one small mark on cheek, considered an essai issue with plain edge (but "essai" not stated on label).
