Great Britain, copper alloy Admiral Vernon medal, 1739, Vernon and ship and cannon / Porto Bello, ex-Adams. AC-PBvi19FF. 13.30 grams; 38 mm. Dark but choice XF+ with a few faint traces of luster, dentillated rims, unusually heavy water lines below the ships. Adams' tag mentions a pedigree to "Chas McSoule List #6 / 8-25-63" that we are unable to trace. XRF: 41.26% copper, 51.55% zinc, 5.60% lead. Pedigreed to the John Adams Collection (with his handwritten tag).
