Great Britain, copper alloy Admiral Vernon medal, 1739, Vernon and Fort Chagre / Porto Bello, ex-Adams. AC-FCv12P. 12.81 grams; 38 mm. Very dark but well-detailed XF+ with much lower copper and higher tungsten content than usual, small flaw in field above tip of sword. XRF: 28.09% copper, 57.48% zinc, 9.26% lead, 4.09% tungsten. Pedigreed to the John Adams Collection (with his handwritten tag).
