Obverse with Hispania holding shield and olive branch, seated on a lion standing over a cannon and fallen flag, all below legend ALZAMIENTO NACIONAL, exergue 29 SETIEMBRE 1868; reverse with sailing ship Zaragoza below legend AURORA DE LIBERTAD, exergue 18 SETIEMBRE 1868plain edge. The September 1868 revolution, in which Queen Isabel II was deposed, was known as "Septembrina"; the ship depicted on reverse is the Zaragoza. Bright with golden sunset tones, frostiness about its intricately designed devices.
