USA (San Francisco Mint), gold $20 coronet Liberty, 1856-S, salvaged. 33.42 grams. Mint State with lightly sandwashed surfaces indicating prior salvage, possibly from the "Fort Capron Treasure" lost in 1857 off Fort Pierce (east coast of Florida) but unfortunately without pedigree information.
