New York, USA, copper cent token, Talbot, Allum, & Lee, 1794, with NEW YORK, lettered edge, PCGS AU details / altered surface. Fuld-4; W-8590, R.1. From 1794 to 1795, the import firm of Talbot, Allum, & Lee, based in New York City, had tokens struck in Britain to promote their business. As the following two lots show, mules were also struck with the Talbot die partnered with English token designs. High AU example with bright surfaces apparently from replating.
