USA, Hard Times token, VOTE THE LAND FREE countermark (ca. 1844) on a US (Philadelphia mint) 1843 Braided Hair large cent, PCGS F15. Brunk-V-110; HT-833; Rulau-Y1. Popular political countermark attributed to the National Reform Association during the 1844 presidential election. Its primary goal was passing land reform acts through Congress, opening up free public lands to homesteaders. Boldly struck countermark on a fairly well-circulated yet detailed host coin, the first example we have offered.

Estimate: 250 - 375 USD
