Estimated by Adams and Bentley to be a "mid-range R-6" in bronze with about 20 examples known. Obverse: high-relief portrait of a youthful Benjamin Franklin wearing a turban facing three-quarters left, B. FRANKLIN OF PHILADELPHIA L.L.D. O. F.R.S. encircling. Reverse: lightning striking a lone tree with the legend NON IRRITA FULMINA CURAT around and J 777 * below in exergue. High AU medal with off coloration but no cleaning marks; especially sharp details from its high-quality production.
