Obverse: 1ST C.V.H.A. / 1861-1865 with crossed cannon at center. Reverse: HANOVER / COURTHOUSE / YORKTOWN / FAIR OAKS / FREDERICKSBURG / MALVERN HILL / PETERSBURG / GAINE'S MILL / RICHMOND. Edge: smooth. Issued to commemorate a veteran's service with the Connecticut volunteer heavy artillery during the Civil War, dark gunmetal-toned piece with hole at top for suspension from a ribbon.
