Cuba, Banco Nacional de Cuba, 50 pesos presentation proof, 1989 (1988), series AA 01, in Thomas de la Rue & Company Ltd. display presentation album, unique. Pick-unl. A unique set of colorful front and back production proofs for a 1989-dated 50 pesos presented in a leather-bound hardcover album embossed with BANCO NACIONAL DE CUBA and the Thomas De La Rue & Company Limited imprint. This set of hand-assembled proofs was pasted together by TDLR artists for a proposed design which was never adopted by the Cuban government. The front features the bust of Calixto Garcia Iniguez to right, and at left is a depiction of the equestrian statue honoring him located in Havana. The back design depicts the Hospital Hermanos Amejeiras in Havana at left and the bronze plaque of Maximo Gomez meeting with Calixto Garcia Iniguez.
