Guatemala, Banco Comercial, 1 peso, 1-11-1892, serial 8704, WBG Choice AU 58 TOP. Pick-S131a. A gorgeous rarity of this privately issued Guatemalan note with nice blue undertones and well-inked brown reverse, just a single light centerfold for the grade. Nice vignette made by International Bank Note Company of a woman holding a sheaf of wheat to the left. The inked signatures are strong and the handwritten date is notable as the first of three recorded dates for the type. To date, PMG has only graded two well-circulated Fine 12 examples of this rare type. Certainly the finest extant, making this a once in a lifetime opportunity for the top Guatemalan collectors.
