Lima, Peru, Casa de Moneda, 1,631 pesos deposit bond, 26-8-1832, serial 1474. Pick-unlisted. Among the first payment documents of the young Republic of Peru, issued in 1832 by the Casa de Moneda (the Peruvian mint) for 1,631 pesos deposited for coinage at the mint with interest of 5% in silver or 2% in gold. Large Peruvian coat of arms at top flanked by pomegranate and liberty cap plus intricate designs along the borders. Stamped with an amortisado stamp at the bottom along with multiple signatures; several penned annotations on the back. VF note with some ink erosion along the penned signatures but otherwise nicely presentable. The first we have offered of this historically important Peruvian note and much rarer than the Junta documents that followed in the later 1830s. With English translation of the text.

Estimate: 250 - 375 USD
