Lima, Peru, Junta del Credito Nacional, 500 pesos, 27-2-1837, serial 20023. Pick-unlisted. Early "bank note" from the young Republic of Peru, issued in 1837 by the government for a 500 pesos deposit. Large Peruvian coat of arms at top with intricate borders; two black stamps throughout and multiple penned signatures and notations towards the bottom. Single punch hole cancellation at the center. VF with nice paper quality and bold printing, a few small pinholes. With English translation of the text.
