Lima, Peru, gold cob 8 escudos, 1739 V, NGC AU 53. S-L30; KM-unl (38.2 for type); Cal-2156. 27.10 grams. Small, thick flan (characteristic of this year) with nice full cross-lions-castles, full but slightly doubled pillars (messy last digit of date), contrasting dark sediment in crevices, second highest grade in NGC census.
