Lima, Peru, gold cob 1 escudo, 1707/5 H, rare, NGC AU 58 (1715 Fleet Label). S-L25a; KM-unl (35 for type); Cal-unl. 3.32 grams. Full but off-center castle side with bold L-H and 707/5 date (Tauler 120a, the overdate clear and sensible since 1706 does not exist) and much flat metal outside the design, better centered but slightly doubled full cross inside a nearly complete outer border of dots with blank metal beyond as well (both sides proving beyond a doubt that these coins had no legends), minimal high-point wear and nice color. From the 1715 Fleet.
Estimate: 6000 - 9000 USD
