Mexico City, Mexico, cob 8 reales, 1622/1/0 D, star after date, very rare, NGC XF 40, finest and only example in NGC census. S-M18a; KM-45; Cal-1296. 26.81 grams. Very bold full 6ZZ of date with full asterisk-like star to right of the last digit (mentioned on label), which is clearly punched over multiple prior digits (also transitioned from Philip III to IV), full oMD and most of shield and cross but rest of coin flat, lightly toned. Pedigreed to the Clyde Hubbard Collection, with his original tag/envelope (Superior Auction of June 1976 lot-tag 2866).
