Lima, Peru, cob 4 reales, "Star of Lima" type, 1660 V, extremely rare, NGC XF 45, finest and only example in NGC census. S-L5; KM-17; Cal-1015. 13.52 grams Choice full cross-and-tressure, good full crown and pillars with complete PLVS / dot-star-dot / VLTRA above 660 date with dot at bottom and waves in legend beyond the border of dots, also with part of king's name in legend on that side (officially the only type of pillars-and-waves coin to have the king's name on the pillars side), nearly round flan with attractive toning. This is the first Lima 4 reales 1660 we have offered for auction or privately in over a decade, with just one other (NGC VF details / environmental damage) having graced the market recently, many times rarer than the 4R 1659 and also much rarer than the 8R 1660.

Estimate: 7500 - 15000 USD
