Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, 1701 Y, Charles II posthumous, ex-Ugaz. S-P43; KM-26; Cal-unl. 26.62 grams. Chunky, smallish flan with some flat spots but bold full date and assayer and both mintmarks between full pillars above full waves, the cross side heavily doubled but with bold second date and assayer and trace of king's name in legend, nicely toned AVF, scarce. Pedigreed to the Jorge Ugaz collection (Sedwick Auction 30, with original lot-tag 661).
