Brazil (struck in Lisbon), gold 1000 reis, Jose I, 1752, medal alignment, PCGS MS 65, finest known in PCGS census, ex-Eliasberg, ex-Voetter. Russo-300; Fr-75; KM-162.1. Choice strike and strong luster, with light wisps of adjustment marks on both sides but otherwise unmarked and flawless, finest at PCGS but with at least four finer at NGC. Pedigreed to the Louis Eliasberg Collection (stated on label, ANR Auction of April 2005, lot 1166), and to the Thomas W. Voetter Collection (B. Max Mehl Auction of January 1943, lot 216).
