This iconic 4 Dollar was the first of its denomination to be printed by the Dominion Government, as issuance of notes less than 5 Dollars by chartered banks was prohibited after 1880. Just 1.2 million of these were produced, and they remain sought after by collectors and seldom appear at public auction. PMG comments "Tears".
