PHILIPPINES. Central Bank of the Philippines. 20 Peso, 1949. P-137pm. Printer's Model. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.
A unique uniface obverse printer's model of an unadopted design for 20 pesos, 1949. Black on multicolor, Andres Bonifacio at left and Emilio Jacinto at right, Bank seal at lower right, Bank title in Tagalog. Although the general design looks similar to that of the issued notes, there are a couple of obvious difference such as the loss of the guilloche below the central panel and the use of Tagalog on the note. A unique note showing the aspirations of the nation wishing to use its own language on its own notes and which was only fulfilled in 1969. PMG comments "Note Unaffected by Issues on Cardstock."
Estimate: $1750 - $2500
