Head of Nymph left, wearing hair in ampyx decorated with stars, earrings and necklace, SYRAKASION ethnic above, PARME below, four dolphins surround, including one emerging behind the neck, 16.95g, (SNG Lockett, 976; SNG ANS, 291 (Same Obverse Die); Tudeer, 56 (Same Reverse Die); One of only three examples of this obverse die: c.f. Gans Collection), and Jean Vinchon Numismatique, 'June 2022 Auction' 29 June 2022, Lot 23 - E10,500 (Wrongly described as Rizzo 47,17)) Nicely-struck with rich cabinet tone on reverse, light porosity to obverse and flan slightly short, sadly obscuring the ethnic and signature, but otherwise a very fine example of a great rarity of type, and a lovely work of classical artistry.
