Attica, Athens AR Tetradrachm, 490-430 BC, Head of Athena right, with frontal eye, wearing earring, necklace, and crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves over visor and palmette rev. Owl standing right, head facing, olive sprig and crescent to left, ATE to right, all within incuse square, 17.30g, (HGC 4, 1597; SNG Copenhagen 31; SNG München 49) Well-struck in high-relief, slight cracks to edge of flan but beautifully-centred, detailed and residually lustrous, good very fine or better.
