AVGV-STA, deified Empress standing left, holding star-stopped sceptre, 2.94g, 12h (RIC III, 362 (Pius); BMCRE 421 (Pius); RSC 104), the reverse off-struck, and with a striking split, otherwise about very fine; additionally, Septimius Severus (193-211), similar, 'Wars of Succession' Commemoritive Issue, struck AD 194-195, Emesa Mint, IMP CAEL SEP SEV PERT AVG COS II, rev. VICT AVG, Victory advancing left, 3.15g, 6h (RIC IV, 424; BMCRE 395; RSC 675a), subtle debasement and surface porosity, otherwise a bolder fine; lastly, Gratian (375-383), AR Siliqua, struck AD 375-378, Siscia, pearl-diademed and draped bust right, rev. VOT XV MVLT XX in four lines in wreath, SISCPS below, 1.57g, 6h (RIC IX 19b; RSC 72c), chipped and ragged betwee 8 and 11 o'clock, otherwise darkly toned, a bolder very fine; an interesting academic group of site finds and casual losses demonstrating the extent to which military occupation impacted the rural economy of Roman Lincolnshire for nearly four Centuries, and further substantiated by PAS recording (12).
