Britannic Empire, Carausius (286-293), AR Denarius, Uncertain British Mint, [IMP] CII))AVSIVS P [F AVG], laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. NE[VE]N[TVS N (?)], Emperor riding left, raising right hand and holding short sceptre in left, OW in exergue, 3.61g, 11h (RIC V, Part 2 -; Reece Period 14), some minor delamination to reverse which presents a touch off-struck, otherwise richly toned and boldly struck up, of intriguing artistic style comparable to a coin in the Fitzwilliam Museum, almost extremely fine and previously unrecorded with the OW exergual signature.
