Kingdom of Judea, A Selection of Herodian Bronze (7): Herod I, 'The Great (40-4 BC) i) AE Two Prutot, Tripod table bearing vessel, flanked by palm fronds rev. cross within open diadem (Hendin, 1178a) toned, good fine; ii) AE Prutah, Anchor rev. Splayed double cornucopia with kerykeion between the horns; dots above, (Hendin, 2619) good fine; iii) AE Half-Prutah, Cornucopia with inscritpion rev. Eagle standing right, 0.87g, (Hendin, 1190) Lamentably an example of, to quote Harlan J. Berk, a 'miserable coinage', about fine to god fine. The first coin of a Jewish ruler to feature a graven image; iv) Herod II Archaleos (c. 4 BC-AD 6) iv) AE Prutah, Crested helmet; caduceus to lower left rev. Grape bunch on vine with small leaf to left (Hendin, 1196; Meshorer, 73) good fine to very fine, nice blue tone; Herod II Agrippa (2): v) AE Prutah (Hendin, 6274); vi) another, as before, 2.94g; vii) another, of unidentified monarch, Jug, rev. leaf on vine, 2.69g; vii) another, of unidentified monarch, inscriptions unclear, 2.54g; (7)..
