SICILY. Leontini. Circa 450-440 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25.5 mm, 17.46 g, 6 h). Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. VΕΟ-ΝΤ-Ι-ΝΟ-Ν Lion's head with open jaws to right; around, four barley grains. Boehringer, Münzgeschichte 37. Buceti 16. Rizzo pl. XXIII, 2 and SNG ANS 222 (same dies). A pleasing. well-centered and lightly toned coin. Good very fine.
