THRACE. Ainos. Circa 357-342/1 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17.5 mm, 3.80 g, 12 h). Head of Hermes facing, turned slightly to the right, wearing a flat petasos with a button at the top. Rev. AINION Cult statue of Hermes Perpheraios on throne to left; to left, goat's head to right. May, Ainos, 449. A beautiful piece, with a head of Hermes in a lovely and emotional late Classical style. Extremely fine.
